Bosch WVD24520GB/01 washer drier. FD 8709.

‘1 minute left’ fault on this machine; usually heater failure, methinks.
This machine has a perfect heater and supply wiring, plugs all OK. Seemingly no heater supply from module. Part number 642988 seems to be the PCB to have the relays on it; do these units fail and cause this fault? Connections doesn’t have a photo of 672815 to compare. Also the motor insulation reading is really close to limits; can this in any way affect the module?

    Any help please!!

    Thanks,

    Steve.

That doesn’t surprise me, I’d never buy Bosch stuff off those cowboys but rather straight from BSH. On the BSH site you can see exploded diagrams and the control module is indeed 672815. Though I doubt that’s the problem TBH. Heater (644801) insulation can throw up the problem for sure, so unless the insulation reading is greater than 100 meg then I’d be up for changing that first.

Do bear in mind also that 1 minute left can be caused by drain or fill time-out. 😉

Thanks Martin, but the machine doesn’t actually heat at all. Heater continuity and insulation are both fine and compare with a new one. Fills and drains perfectly. No supply to the heater is the issue.
I got all the part numbers off BSH and only looked on Connections for a photo, as you can’t tell from exploded views. What I need to know is which module unit supplies the heater?

    Cheers,

    Steve.

The main power module (672815) powers the heater but I’d take a close look at the board first for relay pin damage rather than punt on the cost of a new module. Motor earth leak obviously a caution too as the board will throw a wobbly at any excuse.:rolls:

Thanks Martin – won’t have to worry now, she’s off to buy a Beko in the sales. Priceless!!

    Cheers,

    Steve.

If you mean which relay (I presume there’s only 1 board) then heater relay would probably be linked via solder tracks to a pair of amp tag type connectors rather than an edge connector. But anyway replacing all the relays on the board would be better than getting a Beko. Can’t you talk her round?
    Mike.
