Machine tripping RCD found heater leaking to earth, on fitting new one I noticed the drum had slightly cut into the old one, but its not been noisy, I cant feel any play in the drum all round, any ideas? cheers Paul

I think it unlikely the drum spigot or bearings at fault here. More likely the old heater had just buckled from it’s tub guide and touched the drum at some point maybe?

Possible foreign object….bra wire maybe…..trapped between the two drums ?

Cheers boys its also nicked the temperature regulator probe so I feel a bit more confident about ordering that. By the way Paul I’m a big Chelsea fan.

If its nicked the Temp reg then i’d be more even tempted to say something has got trapped . Might be worth having a quick look through the heater access hole when you fit the new heater/NTC.

Possible fractured spider, you can’t always detect them. Spin with a heavy full load in would show it up probably.
