Bosch WVF240SGB Won’t agitate

The motor does not turn at all on the agitate part of the cycle however it will happily turn in any spin cycle, I have tried replacing the motor control board but no joy. Any ideas?

not a lot of info about this one

cant find many pics of motor module components but judging by the ribbon connector its the switch at the top that decides what the motor is doing. looks a bit like an old style mechanical timer so i would expect a motor on the rear of it would activate contacts to tell module what to do. I would inspect the ribbon cable for damage and bad connections.
cant see the top switch listed on Bosch and listed on connect as obsolete

Thanks for the reply, yes it’s the old type mechanical timer. Cable seems fine so I’ll try a new timer
