Missus was washing a quilt and during the cycle the whole machine started jumping around for a short while.
Now it seems the door seal has slipped. It seems fine where it meets the drum but it seems to have slipped where it attaches onto the casing.
I think (hope!) it’s just a case of removing the seal from the casing, put it back in its correction position and resealing.
My question is how do I release the seal from the machine casing.
I can see a spring and two hooks but don’t think it’s wise to detach them without advise.

    Thanks for reading 🙂

I think you’ll find that if you take the lid off, the tub spring on one side will have jumped off its mounting, or broken.

    Power off first, please.

Hiya Penguin thanks for the prompt reply 😀
Do you mean the two big springs, one on the left and the other on the right that connect the drum to the outer casing?
If so both springs seem to be fine, the drum looks to be sitting perfectly in the machine.
I don’t know if this helps but the 3 drain holes in the bottom of the door seal seem centralised. It’s almost if the seal has slipped on the outer casing.

I could be talking rubbish but looking at the creases it’s almost if the seal has moved in a clockwise direction.

The spring and two hooks are the retaining ring . If you look around the edge of the door seal you’ll see the metal wire ring in the outer groove . Prise this off , by the spring , and this will allow you to re-position the door seal and then locate the oute edge to secure it.

To re-fit the retaining ring is a bit fiddly and needs some ‘muscle’ but the best way is to place the spring at the bottom of the seal , keep the LHS part of the spring in the groove and feed the rest of the ring around the seal’s edged groove. Once done , thi should leave about a quarter of the ring still outside the groove on the RHS…..now stretch the spring , to allow the rest of the ring to get seated .
