ParticipantHi popped in for some advice π
Our 2 year old Bosh has stopped heating the water when running a cycle.
Not sure if its related but a few days ago the machine made a load bang during a cycle and switched off. I found that the fuse in the mains plug had blown. I changed the fuse and everthing thing seemed fine. However the machine is now running a full cycle with cold water!
I’ve tried using the repair@ service offered on this site but it found no service engineer in my area (Hove). ANy tips on how to find a reliable service engineer that won’t charge the Earth?!
Thanks

Firstly you might want to check the guarrantee with regards to free spare parts etc and then call BSH Appliancecare (Bosch) who do charge a lot of money (in my opinion) to repair a product, but if the spares are free you will most likely save a few bob in the long run……by the sound of it the heater has blown and this may possibly have damaged the electronics too.

Thanks for the reply.
We had a two year warranty which ran out in December 2005- typical. As far as I’m aware thatβs it.
I’m trying to find out how to locate a reliable engineer in the Brighton & Hove area. I expect it won’t be cheap but trying to avoid the cowboys out there.

Im sure Bosch will do the job FOC at best.At worst you probably will get spares FOC providing you use a BSH engineer.

Thanks again for the response.
Sorry I don’t understand some of the terminology here! π What does ‘FOC’ mean?
Also where do I find a BSH engineer – just use the Yellow pages?
