Bosh WAP28360GB/01 bearing job

I need to do the drum bearings on this beast and although it looks like a reasonable job, I’m wondering if there’s any thing I need to know before I give the lady a price ?

You’ll need a bearing kit AND a tub seal gasket kit. Tub needs splitting after tabs are cut off ( new screws in tub seal gasket kit). Arse of a job first time and you have to hope and pray that the drum shaft ain’t scored with the old bearings. If so new drum required or a recall in no time at all……… Viel Glück…!!! 😀

I’m sure this tub was screwed together Martin. Are there tabs that need cutting off as well as the screws ?

Probably yes, though not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure, my memory ain’t what it was you see. 😉

think this is a 9kg siemens tub, no tabs afaik. cannot be more than 18 months old though……

Yes your correct eastlmark. I’ve advised the lady that this m/c should be covered under warranty but this lady is very disorganised and has failed to register or keep her proof of purchase.

Don’t need proof of purchase as the FD number is sufficient to show its age!

Use the EU ruling (1999/44/EC) if you don’t have the guarantee and the machine is under two years old.

I will advise the lady to speak to bosh.
Shame though as looked like a decent job, not too badly gone and in a garage with lots of room to work.
