ParticipantHi guys
Virgin poster here. I recently bought an LG F1402FDS6 as a house warming present for my sister. However after being kindly directed to this forum and researching a little, I’ve found them not rated at all. It’s still in a box in my front room as my sister is still renovating her new place. Would I be wise to return it and buy an ISE 1606W instead? I’ve been told it can be had for £750 but can’t find a link for this.
Thanks in advance

Hi
The ISE will outlast the LG by a long way, they are extremely well built and backed up by a ten year warranty which makes it a good investment. You can access the machine to purchase from this link

The £851 (and 8p) price is making me baulk a little. Especially as Laskys, who I ordered the LG from, will probably charge to have it picked back up. That’d means this ISE could cost me upwards of £900 which I don’t think I’m prepared to pay.
Is the AV23 anywhere near as good? I know Miele are good but expensive to repair. I have an old Bosch Maxx which was been pretty faultless except motor brushes which I replaced last year. What else should I consider around that mid-range price bracket?
My main priorities are wash performance, low niose levels and energy saving in that order.
Or should I just keep the LG and cross my fingers?

The LG steam machine is still very new and it`s long term reliability is unknown. LG products when working are good machines the problems only arise if the appliance breaks down as spares are known to be long winded and tech info from them is very hard to come by.
The ISE1606W is up there along with Miele machines when it comes to build, longevity of life and being energy efficient. The AW23 is a good machine in it`s class and price point, you can`t comapre it to the 1606W though as it`s a totally different build in a totally different factory.
Looking at it from the gift to your sister point of view I`m sure she would be extremely happy to have what is considered to be up to the minute tech and which looks good at the same time.
I think If it were me considering all the angles I would be keeping my fingers crossed 😉

I’m going to keep the LG and trust it keeps tight. As it’s only my sister and brother in law using it at the moment, it will only be used lightly so I hope it stays reliable.
Thanks for your help and a great introduction to these forum don :salute:

I actually like the latest lg’s – never really had to do a major repair on one yet tho – usually all just been blocked filters. all the customers ive been to who have had one, or where ive repaired dryers that were stacked on top of them, the customers have been generally happy with them. personally i think theyre certainly ahead of hotpoints, and zanussi and hoover for build quality, but for only a few quid extra.
Visual quality – i.e plastics and fit and finish is like for like with bosch. we’ve only stocked them for the last 18 months tho, based on the information our customers have provided us based on previous purchases of lg washers. the only thing that annoys me on the models we stock is the mobile phone style tinkles they make when you push the buttons.
