Brandt Double Oven FD292 bottom oven stopped heating,

I recently noticed that the element in my bottom oven was glowing orange. This may have always been the case but I had not noticed it before. A little while later, the oven was producing no heat and the light and digital display stopped working. The top oven is working fine. Any ideas what the problem is ?

Sounds like there may be an overheat thermostat that has tripped or, the clock has gone but you’d have to prod about a bit to narrow it down.
