Is anybody familiar with these machines? This frost-free fridge-freezer is controlled by the common Brandt pcb part no. 45×8576. It gets down to temperature ok [5 degrees C in the fridge; below -17 in freezer, cuts out but doesn’t switch back on until it’s at 15C in the fridge.
I tested the thermistors which appeared to work ok [the resistances went down as the temperatures went up] so I changed the board [QER] but the problem is still there. Is this problem one of the thermistors? Only the freezer one seems to be shown on the diagram. Can you change the fridge one? One thing I forgot to do is check the continuity through the ‘balancing resistor ‘ shown on the diagram. What does this do and is it important?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Geoff
