ParticipantHi all can someone help?
I have a Brandt FP225 XS 13 oven single cavity.
Its a fan assisted oven with self cleaning mode. I have had the oven just short of two years. Last week i tried the self cleaning mode for the first time. Not only did it not work but it knocked out the heating fan. Is this just a coincidence?
The oven still works just no fan, as does the grill.
Cheers

ChewitProbably not 😕 These do suffer from overheating problems occasionally, Brandt even recommended making sure the kitchen windows were open during the pyroclean 😯
You say the fan doesn’t work? If you mean the actual fan not rotating then it will prolly need a new fan motor. On the other hand if you mean the fan rotates but it doesn’t heat up (much more usual) then the fan element will have failed 😉
Power off at all times if you’re going in :zap:
If you need any spares you can email Shop@ with the full model number and serial number….
HTH?

Thanks Clive.
The fan i can see (i assume theres only one) is not rotating, = therefore a new fan motor, but why does this stop the pyro clean, which did not operate at all when switched on?
Cheers

Hi Chris….sorry i misread your first post and assumed that the pyro had run leading to the problem which is usually the case 😉
There could be a number of reasons for the problem, and i would suggest you get a professional repairer in to diagnose and quote for the job…these are complex machines and have some expensive electronics inside. It may well be the fan motor is faulty, equally there may be a problem with the electronics not switching it on, either way the pyro function will not operate as it requires this to run during the operation….
You could try the link below for a local engineer? If no luck there (some professionals choose not to service these) then come back to us and we can find the nearest Brandt agent for you.
