    Broke the inside pane of the oven a pyrolytic (which we never ever use) 500c burn oven
    £60 to replace didn’t bother seems to be OK. Have I done something stupid

    The triple layer is essential for the high temperature cleaning process, which, if you don’t use it, is fair enough. However, consider that the inner panel of the door will now fill with grease and fatty deposits, eventually causing odours, a hygeine problem and ultimately a fire risk.

    I would re-consider your course of action. You might also be surprised to find that your household insurance policy may well cover you for the accidental damage, if cost is a factor.

    Please note that two of the glass plates are coated another reason to have a WELL trained engineer/ tech.
