I am trying to locate brushes for the above washing machine motor. The model is the 1600 spin version.
I would also like to ask if this is a common fault with this Brandt model. I have been lead to believe that motors for this particular model do not last that very long and can expect to change the motor every 3 to 5 years at a cost of around £90. Is this correct?
This particular machine is only 30 months old.

It is not a fault, it’s a maintenance job. Given that when the machine hits the 1600 loony spin, the drive motor is doing 24,000 rpm, it’s amazing that they last as long as they do.

    Anyway, these:

are the common ones that fit most Brandt machines.

If you have a varispin option on this machine, back it off to 11/1200rpm, you gain nothing above that and simply work the machine harder.

    Hi Penguin

I fitted the brushes on Tuesday and the machine is now working a treat again. Thanks for the brushes and the advice.

Do you know of anywhere I can get an instruction manual for this machine?
