    morning,
I’ve fitted a set of bearings to this machine are you were correct they are easy 🙂 I’ve fitted non gen bearings but have forked out for the gen seal 😡 and now the customer is complianing of a squeeling noise(that will be me if I have to pay out for another seal) 😥 if you turn the drum it does make a noise and sound like the seal on the brass bush so what I want to know is :-has anyone had this before and what did you do about it ?I’m sure Hotpoint bearing seals at one time came with silcone grease in them do you think if I put some grease in them would it do any harm ❓

I know whirlpool have had the same problem but it is mainly on the 1400 models where it makes a whistling noise. To cure this you have to change the rear half tub and apply AMBLYGON GREASE to the seal liberally. But most rear half tubs now come with this applied.

I do not work with Brandt. What family are they from?

Elco Brandt is for sale, to Fagor. 😉

That machine actually came from the Blomberg plant in Germany and it’s pretty decent to be fair, the plant is now owned bt Arcelik (no I’m not kidding ;)), the parent of Beko.

Grease the seal up – I’ve change a few blomberg bearing assy’s 55×5839, the bearing seals are lubricated with grease when supplied complete so you should be ok.

Thanks for the advice, I’ve put a small amount of grease on the outer part of the seal and it has done the job so I’ll see how long it lasted
    thanks
    Mark 🙂
