    Hi all
I had a call to a integral brandt d/w today dwx031/1 which had been cleaned out with washing up liqiud. 😯 😯 😯
It has flooded and been rinced a few times but then wouldn’t start.
This one has a mec timer in the floor which was stuck half way round.
When I repositioned it back to 12 o’clock it fired up and filled to correct level 😮 .
But it now has no wash pump or heat, just fill and click round to empty.
Need to recall because it is all glued and screwed and tiled after d/w installed so lucky for me her huby wants to remove it for me. 😆 .
Has anyone come across this problem before and does anyone know the p.n. for the wash pump.

Check the heater for earth faults, causes all sorts of odd faults on this one, also the door lock could be at fault. Cannot look up part number as Connect has messed up the Brandt part look up on Mediator on line and most of the common models are not there.

Just a stab in the dark, but maybe the washing up liquid has caused it to overfoam and has created air lock/blockage in pressure system, which is preventing initiation of circulating pump and heat.

    HI 🙂
I had the same type of D/W in a kids home and one of them kept putting washing up liquid in the machine went 5 times in a fortnight until they moved the kid on 🙁 I had to keep filling and emptying the machine by moving the Timer in the base manually then when all seemed OK then I would RESET the resetable thermostat at the back
    hope that helps

Re: Brant d/w & washing up liquid

Most bars of soap have a dramatic effect at reducing suds in appliances, one or two like Dove or Camay will not work, you just have to try them. In the old twin tub days, oversoaping of the spinner was a common fault. Just got the big block of Fairy or Sunlight and rubbed it it all over the spin can and the detergent vanished like magic.
If I get an automatic that is over soaped, rather than going through loads of rinses I just put the bar of soap in the hot fill side of the dispenser, fill it once and the foam will dissapear before your very eyes, much faster than fabric conditioner. If you use bubble bath at home, notice how if you use a bar of soap, most of the time the bubbles will disperse rapidly, unless it is one of the more poncy scented types. 🙂

I used to use the bar of soap method but in todays kitchens they are very hard to find now with all that new fangled liquid stuff. (which doesnt work at all)

A glass of milk is a good “unsoaper” too, and easy to find in most homes.
