    Hi,
I assume I need to replace the control assembly but coukld be wrong….the buttons are now flush with the oven control panel and can’t be pressed in to make selections. If I need to get to the assessbly and replace it…do I remove the steel panel that has 2 gas hobs on it immediately above it or is there some way of removing the whole of the oven control fascia at the front ? Any help gratefully received.

It’s either the timer or the bracket that holds it but, to find out much more I’d need the ART and serial number.

The hob lifts up to allow access, all the burners need to be taken off and the screws released.

Wow…thanks very much for your quick response. I saw online that the serial number and ART could be found on the ratings plate in the storage drawer..I checked but no sign. It was bought has a reconditioned cooker a few years ago. The manual doesn’t say anything on it. Looking online it looks very much like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Britannia-SI-9TC-L-S-Cooker-Standing-Stainless/dp/B0098JLMAQ

Without that info it’s really, really hard to tell you much of anything.

Thing, Ford Transit and you know no more than that but want a part. Check around the door openings as well.

Understood. I’ve had a good look round but nothing. It was bought as a reconditioned cooker on ebay about 5 years ago (groan !) so can’t find the transaction details either. So that hob panel just comes off (undo 4 screws and the small nuts around the two small gas burner injector pipes (do I need to do anything to the electric ignition thing ?) and then hopefully I’ll be able to get sight of the timer assembley box. I’m off out now but is it okay if I post a bit later in the week with any details ? Really appreciate your help. Thanks. Gary.

Typically, the hob comes apart like this:

Then you get to the control panel that’s typically like this:

But they can vary a fair bit depending on what machine it is.
