ParticipantHi all,
I have a double oven, both were working fine but a few days ago the larger one won’t switch on at all – the small one still works ok.
I’ve checked the oven is on the correct manual setting, there’s no noise or fan when trying to turn it on, and neither the green and orange oven lights come on when turning the knobs (though I’m sure I saw the orange one flicker for a second when I tried to turn it on).
I’m thinking it can’t be a fuse or something like that as the small oven still works fine as does the rest of the cooker. Any advice or help would be much appreciated!
Thanks,

KeymasterCheck the main oven control switch for signs of burning etc, it’s probably that.

ParticipantYou mean the dial I turn to turn the oven on? If so – no signs of burning on that, or the temperature control switch at all. Both look fine

KeymasterNo, I mean the switch behind the panel there, you won’t see anything without getting inside there.

ParticipantThanks for that. I’ve been in touch with the model number etc to find a replacement switch, and have been told to check the original one before ordering to be sure it’s the right one to use. Anyway, my problem now is that I can’t see any mounting screws (to be able to pull the oven forward and access the top panel to see/replace the switch).
I’ve read up some stuff and there should be screws either side, but there aren’t! Any idea how I can access it? I tried to upload a pic but the max size allowed is 2mb so it doesn’t work..

KeymasterAll the burners off, all the screws out then look for any around the sides back to lift up the hob deck and it should be one of these in it:

Check before ordering though as they have been known to alter on production.
