    Can anyone advise please, to change the oven selector switch on this range cooker, do you have to remove the gas hob, and disconnect the gas to do so. Originally told by customer oven base element had gone, so took on the job. However, we don’t do gas work so may have to can if the answer to the above is yes. Any help would be appreciated

    IIRC you don’t have to disconnect the gas, but the top does have to lift off to get at it. Very straight forward though. Some of them come off in sections, so you might only have to lift the left hand side.

    Don’t wish to throw a spanner in the works but i was under the impression if it was a gas appliance then you need a gas certificate. I may be wrong ? Would be interested to know as have been turning away simple electrical faults on dual fuel appliances.

    This has been covered on previous posts, you can work on the electrics if not Gassafe registered.
