Having gotten into the oven to fix a burn-out element, I am onto other historic “issues” – notably the oven lamp. This blew a couple of years ago tripping out the 40A trip with it. The bulb disintegrated in the holder and made it impossible to remove the remaining metal shell. Having been into the back now I have removed the ceramic lamp holder – best solution get a new one. However the cost of a Britannia original is ridiculous (over £70 delivered), so I was wondering whether a generic lamp assembly would fit – I guess it only needs to fit in the same diameter hole. The one I was looking at was: http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/371604-l … -incl-bulb does anyone know whether this would fit?

If you email Dave on spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk he will try to find you a suitable one at a sensible price.
