With help from you guys I have replaced the circular element around the fan on my Britannia SI-9TF range oven. Because of the crap design I needed to access the rear of the oven to affect the replacement. All went well, I ran the oven up to temperature for 15 mins to burn off the new smell – all OK. Some time later (when I actually needed to use the thing!) the oven will not came on at all. The clock works, the gas ignitors work, the second oven works – but the main oven is dead in all dial positions. Is there a trip/fuse for each oven – and if so where should I find its location? And if not what could be my problem?

    Thanks for any help.

Is there a clock and, if there is, has it been set to “auto”?

You’re an absolute star! Obviously when the clock was reset it must have been knocked into Auto!! Problem solved – thanks so much.
