broken f&p mw511!!!!!

Hi,

I have a Fisher and Paykel MW511 that was working fine one day but I awoke the next day to find the machine on and beeping at me when it had been left off. I cannot get the machine to do anything at all. The lights that are on are the second from the right and sixth from the right. I think that it could be diagnostics code “34” but I havn’t done a diagnostics check on it , the ligts are lit anytime the machine is plugged in.
Also if I hit the start button the lid lock light comes on and stays on, it wont go off until i unplug the next time but it does flicker and go dull occasionally. The local service tech said that the little computer in it was fried, probably by a power surge, but he wants 2-3 hundred AUS to come and replace it. Any other suggestions before going down that path would be appreciated.

Fault code 34 does relate to a faulty motor controller(Main PCB)
YEP Not much change out of $300.00
