    Hi

I have a Blomberg fridge/freezer. It has a fridge compartment above the freezer compartment. The identification numbers I can find on it are 0331 and GN2661FF. It’s badged frost free. I think it is 5-8 years old.

    Two problems:

    1. I came back from a weekend away to find that neither compartment seems to be freezing or chilling any more. It has been making unhealthy cracking noises (a bit like ice cracking) for a month or two now, while still working.

The power is on. It is still making electrical humming noises, the interior light works, and the piping on the back is hot.

    2. The rear part of the plastic surround of one of the glass fridge shelves has split, meaning I can’t put heavy items on it.

I’m not sure if it’s worth getting an engineer in to repair it, or whether at its age and condition it would be more cost effective to replace it. Similar models seem to be priced at £200-£250.

    Any advice gratefully accepted.

    Regards,

    Jim

Defrost it for 48hrs and that should cure the refrigeration side and the cracking noise.

Thanks, I’ll try the defrost cure.

Anyone know if/where I can get a fridge shelf or rear surround part?

    Regards,

    Jim

It’s made by Brandt, they only supply the complete shelf/support as one item, priced around £25 each. I can order no problem for you.

See how the defrost goes and if you need a shelf, drop me an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk quoting the part number 43X8650 🙂

    Dave.
