When the mains switch is turned on the grill heats up even though grill knob has not been turned. The grill is seperate from the oven. It’s a Diplomat ADP 5324 dual fuel.

Oven switch is probably faulty and the switch on its own is no longer available, looks like you will need a repair kit which consists of both oven switches, both thermostats and a load of wires.

This is not a job for diy, use the “find an engineer” link at the top of this page and you should be able to get someone to repair this for you.

    Hi John,
Thanks for your reply. Sorry to be thick but by switches do you mean control knobs because that’s what we have on the front of the cooker and each one is seperate therefore only one for the grill (top) and seperate one for the oven (bottom) . The grill and oven are electric and the hobs are gas. I tried engineer search but there are none in my area.

The switches and thermostats are behind the control knob under the hob.
