ParticipantBSH group dishwashers with the plastic bases in particular. I am finding more and more of these with leaks between the tank (stainless) and the groove at the top edge of the plastic base that the tank sits in. These areas are very prone to leaking and are often sagging and bowing out of shape. The groove opens right up and the seal is quite often displaced by this movement (usually on the right hand side of the machine where there is no structural support for the plastic groove). I have been resealing them with a good success rate but I am wondering what the official BSH fix is? What parts are required to give a perfect fix?
Anyone shed some light on this growing problem?
Thanks!
Steve.

Hi Steve
there has been several mods at production level to this base over the last year or so. From what we can gather too many hot cycles are causing the base to distort, water then leaks into the base area.
Like you we have been sealing them but after a few months the problem reappears, no doubt the customer is still using the hot cycle despite us advising not to all the time. To my knowledge there is no official fix for this.
We no longer sell any BSH dishwasher with the Polyinox base and do not recommend them either and advise the customer as to why.We now sell up to the all stainless tanks which is series 4 and up on Bosch. In all fairness the price increase is not that much either.

We , ourselves , as engineers have queried why we still sell the polinox base machines as we obviously come across more of these than we’d like. The write off/exchange percentages seem to be so much more than any other product and although the earlier strainless steel ones can also leak , at least there is a fix for them. I’m growing increasingly frustrated at telling customers that their 3 year old Bosch dishwasher can’t be fixed.
