Here we are another year another budget, the modus operadi as usual is lets fleece the working people of this once great country and make it as difficult as possible for the small business.

TAX, TAX, TAX and more TAX is the order of the day all backed by the premise that its to do with Green Policy to help save the planet and make us all much healthier.

Are we stupid ? Are we gullible, or just brow beaten with it all ?

Road Fund up, drink and Cigs up, Road Pricing in the backround, Food up, Imigration issues, World Finances rocky, more and more cheap products manufactured by repressed populations.

It makes you wonder how far the Goverment can go with these polices and how much more the people will take before they snap and realise that their wages are being swallowed up by Taxes dreamt up by talentless politicans who in the face of their track record could’nt organize a P*** up in a brewery.

If it were France the Goverment would be made to back down, as it is they can take direct action while we sit here with 3000 lorries parked on the motorway costing Kent Police £ 16,000 a day and loss of revenue of hundreds of thousands to the hauliers and Ferry operators.

If that was here the Police would remove the protesters by force, in this Police State we can protest until the powers to be decided that we will be suppressed. This once free country is now costly to each and every one of us with real wage levels at a stagnent all time low, while the politicans award themselve large pay increases and gas guzzelling motors to ferry them around.

    I need a stiff drink !

    Re: Budget ?

I was up at 4:30am this morning thinking about this, I wrote this on the subject.

I wasn’t going to publish it but I’ve decided to share it or a while at least. I also managed to stay away (miraculously) from the utter stupidity that some manufacturers and AMDEA promote as environmental policies. If I get started on that I’m liable to upset some people. 😉

    Re: Budget ?

    Hi, k,

Did you ever see the Great Global Warming Swindle when it was on TV?

Basically global warming was dreamt up in the 80’s by the Thatcher Gov,
It went along the lines of, the miners were on strike & she wanted to show coal as a bad thing, so it was made to look like coal was causing global warming, however, in the 70’s the world was seeing signs of global cooling, (after 20-30 years of far more polluting than we have today),
The global warming/harming from coal was so powerfull that people started to believe it in mass numbers, so, there also lay a bonus, put up taxes to help the enviroment,
What the programme showed was that there is a real link between CO2 and Global warming, but that it is in fact the other way round, in the last 200 years when the world has naturally warmed up, then Co2 levels rise AFTER, therefore Co2 is a byproduct of natural global warming & not the cause,

Maybe i should have put this in the rumours forum??, anyway, hope it makes some sense!

    Re: Budget ?

Yep I have seen it, got the DVD not five feet away as is Al Gore’s epic. 😉

I have also read loads of documentation, books and watched loads both for and against Global Warming theory and, remember all it is is a theory it is as yet unproved despite the propaganda. Personally I don’t buy it as I don’t think there’s enough evidence to support the presumptions being made.

That said, I can also see that there could, if it were correctly handled, do a lot of good as it draws attention to many issues of a wasteful society and the ultimate pollution created through that.

You need to have a balanced view IMO based in fact, or as much factual evidence as you can take in.

It is a very complex subject using very complex modelling and theory with incomplete data, certainly not enough in my opinion to conclusively reach the assumptions that have been. We have little over 150 years worth of reasonably solid meteorological and temperature information (although it is probably not entirely accurate or complete as required) and are trying to draw models of complex systems that span many millennia, in effect trying to second guess nature whilst in some ways ignoring a lot of data which denies the theories of climate change being no more than a natural cycle.

But, if it is such a huge threat to everyone, why are we not doing anything about it other than putting another few pence on a litre of oil?

yep could not agree more, like your write up too, where have all the alternative methods of providing heat/propulsion gone, do we really belive that the motor engine now over 100 years old has not been improved/replaced, it would be like saying the twin tub is still the only way to wash clothes!, if you or i or any other came up with a new way to power a car tomorrow without petrol/diesel/gas how much would the oil companies/gov pay to buy it only for it to dissapear?, do we all really think that the gov wants us all to ditch our cars?, how would the economy cope if petrol/diesel was to stop being bought tomorrow?

    Re: Budget ?

There was a quote, it may have been in that Swindle DVD or somewhere else I heard or saw it and it went along the lines of…

“There are approximately 100 trillion barrels of oil left in the earth. That’s at least 10000 trillion dollars worth of business still to be done with oil.”

I think that sums it up fairly well.

    Re: Budget ?

The temperature cycle of the earth is well documented through ice and tree records. Even the sub-variations or “wobbles” follow an almost fixed pattern which doesn’t need to be modelled. We are currently exactly on schedule.

There is nothing we puny humans can really do.

    Carry on, chaps……..

K, You are on the money with your synopsis of the Great Global Warming Farce. I agree with all that you have said, I think all of us at UK should put you up as a new independant party.

I would like to see your points raised with the current crop of politicians as I too suspect that they would really struggle to weazel their way out of the matter. Of course they are all weazels which is a qualification they need to hold in order to stand up in public and never ever provide a answer to the questions raised.

The weazels are weazeling the population of this country and the weazels have got us all working so hard chasing our tails to pay them that we have forgotten that the weazels are taking us for idiots. Idiot I am not and it takes little thought to see that if global warming was as desperate as they would have us all think then the weazels would be the first to want to try to save themselves.

On the subject of global warming…. England as a country only causes 2{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} a year YES 2{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} the largest problems lie with the USA, INDIA, CHINA and JAPAN.

So as a nation we get the highest taxes, so your hard earned money buys less each year. While MP’s get to vote for there own pay rise which always beats inflation by god knows what.

In America you put the price of fuel up and you would be voted out of office.

As normal though we sit back take it and say nothing, MP’s go out and ask the public what they want to see done and then do the opposite.

Things will never change and somewhere in the sun looks more inviting everyday. Time for a large stiff drink.

Na, the politically correct brigade of jobs worths and various other wasters would have me assassinated. I’m not seeing that as a sharp career move.

T (traceukw) did a degree many years back in local political administration and, writing a lot of the coursework for her (shh, don’t tell) I came to learn that really, the elected politicians have little real power, the civil servants however, do.

This is why when it comes to the likes of CORGI there’s no point talking to CORGI as they are merely lapdogs that do a job for the HSE but CORGI get all the flack, the HSE is where the problem really lies. Politicians rely on information from the various departments to do anything it seems so the whole thing can be skewed.

A good example would be climate change. Just think how much extra budget that the Environment Agency and DEFRA have had injected to deal with this impending catastrophe. Like I always say, follow the money. 😉
