Is everyone aware ( I am not joking) that fitting a new or replacement cooker hood is now notifiable under Building Control from 6 april 06 – for those who get it see this months Gas Installer page 25.

Perhaps I’ve misread it or I’m cracking up

I Hope the cracking up bits right as I replace loads of cooker hoods for letting agents and have found them a good little earner. Sounds like Part P all over again

GAS INSTALLER PAGE 24 Column 2

“REMEMBER:The government has changed Building Regulations. From 6 April, plumbing and ventilation work must now be notified to Local Authority Building Control. Failure to comply with building regulations may result in prosecution or a fine of up to £5000”.

Ps They want you to join Corgi Plumbing ( blue logo) and Corgi ventilation ( purple logo) as well as Corgi electrical ( red logo).
