    Hi everyone

I’d really appreciate some help with this. I want to fit a built-under double oven described as 87cm high. This will go under my worktop with 1-2cm to spare. However, the local salesman tells me this would be inadvisable and I should look for one around 70cm high. My wife’s not happy with this though, as she says it wouldn’t give enough oven space.

Can I fit the 87cm high oven under my worktop? Or is it really inadvisable (eg. inadequate ventilation)?

    All replies appreciated!

    Re: Built under height problem

    Hi

There are two types of built in ovens. On one hand you have a “built in” oven which are on average 880mm high which are designed to go in at waist height and up. Then you have the “built under” variety which are around 710mm high.

If you try to install one of the built in ones under the worktop not only will the bottom oven door snag the floor but you will have to get on your knees to remove any dish you have placed in it.

If you want extra oven capacity and you cannot have a built in then a combination microwave oven could be an extra addition.
