ParticipantI have a Proline oven, one of EC6000/6100/6200. The oven bulb has gone. To replace, the instruction manual says, after disconnecting, simply turn the cover one quarter turn to left and undo. However, as far I can tell, I can move the cover a bit, but it won’t come off. Can the bulb cover be removed without disconnecting the oven from the mains? or is this sth else?
Thanks for your help
Stuart.

Always good practice to cut the power before doing anything………. The cover will simply have baked on with grease and the like. A good clean around the edges and using a damp cloth for extra grip will probably let you release it.

Thanks for the reply. I tried disconnecting from supply but am still unable to remove the oven bulb cover. The oven is fairly clean, and the type of resistance does not feel like it is excessively dirty. It is almost as though there is some sort of spring clip permitting some movement of the cover, but still holding it on. I will keep trying.
I would be appreciative if anyone with this type of oven (or any similar oven) confirming, or not, that the oven bulb cover can be removed, by hand, by simply turning to the left.
best regards
Stuart

Hi Stuart
I have the same oven as you and the same bulb problem. Did you manage to remove the bulb? If so, how? I have replaced my bulb once before but cannot remember how I did it so I know that it can be done. I am loathe to use brute force as new ovens are expensive!

Further to previous post. The clear plastic bulb cover can be removed by turning it. It’s not just a quarter turn though, just keep turning it as mine was fully threaded. After several hours of trying of get the cover off I brought in the “brute force” brigade (husband) and he did it with some type of adjustable spannery thing (yes, I am being a bit technical here!).
Voila 😀

Thanks very much, I have replaced the bulb now. The cover turned easily with a bit more force. I don’t know why it wouldn’t do this before!
