The lower element in our Britannia range has failed so I pulled the oven away from the wall to investigate how it is removed.

Upon removing the back panel I encountered some burnt looking components (the light fitting is particularly bad) and fibrous material. I’ve included a picture.

Should this be cause for concern?

    Thanks

No its grease from the cooking process. Oven are made with materials that do not burn at temperature that the cooker could produce, even if components failed the element will destroy itself before.
