ParticipantThe washer came to me with a fault as no motor action but everything else works. Discovered the PCB is faulty. There are three burnt out components on the board, I checked it with a low voltage multimeter and no readings shown on the components.
I can’t make out the markings despite my limited knowledge on Electronics.
The markings shown SM 03, SR 04, F5 19.
I have a hunch that this could have been capacitors. Unless someone out there who is lucky to have a diagram who is willing to share that? A replacement board could cost me between £150 to £200 depending which supplier I use.
Stories of other engineers attempting to repair for pennies seems attractive option for me to try before sending the washer to the scrap heap.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
I would like to put a photo on it but do not know where to do put it on.[/img]

You could place the photo onto photobucket or some other free-hosting site and then place its URL between Img tags.

Size, shape, colour, number of legs/tabs? But anyway TBH fixing a Bosch module is going to be a tough one to start with. If you can see those three are dead, there could well be others got brought down which you can’t see. Still, it’s the way to learn if you have the time.

The model number is WFG2820GB, do you want the serial number?

PS, Don’t forget to ask the question, “What caused this burn out?” before you even start to repair the module!
