    Hi,

Our cooker is no longer working. The hob works fine.

Our cooker has a duel oven/grill. We rarely use the grill but happened to use it today. We then went to use the cooker after and now it won’t qork. I suspect the grill has damaged the element?

I believe it is a duel oven/grill element. The little light next to the knob also doesn’t light up now. Would this also be because the element doesn’t work or could it be a different, bigger issue? This is what I’m concerned about. We don’t have a lot of money and can not afford to replace the element if it isn’t this. We certainly can’t afford a new cooker at Christmas

We had trouble turning the knob but this seems ok now. Should I take the plunge with the element?

    Thank you,
    James.

no don’t order element till you are sure

Am assuming this is not a fan oven and therefore uses the outer grill element to heat the oven. if yes there is also another element under the floor of the oven. If one element has failed I would expect the second element to still get hot. Since this is not the case and you experienced problems turning the knob it is more likely this is at fault

behind the knob you have a switch
this one looks likely but check before you purchase
