ParticipantHi All, I am seeking some help from members regarding my Dish Washer a Bush Model WQP8 – 9347. Any help, Tips, advice will be appreciated.
The appliance was working fine and suddenly it started giving Error code E4, a friend who has a similar type of Dish Washer suggested that there must be water leaking within the dish washer, to sort this out I must pull out the equipment from the Unit and tilt it backwards to drain out the leakage that may have occurred internally, for some reason. His suggestion was based on the same problem he had faced earlier with his machine and this had sorted out his problem and got the E4 error cleared and the machine had started working normally.
I tried this method and a quite a bit water had poped out from the rear part of the Machine. I had left the machine switched off for over 12 hours for the water to dry up.
Once when I switched on the machine the E4 had gone, but unfortunately the Program switches are not functioning the only Display that is coming on when powering up are the 2 green LED lights with (2) dashes (- -).
NON OF THE PROGRAM SWITCHES ARE OPERATING, all green Led’s on the program switches are flashing for a second when the power button is switched on. When pressing any program button nothing is functioning, normally a green Led light switches on to indicate for which ever function is pressed.
Secondly, whenever the door is open there used to be an Alarm sound buzzing until the door was shut, but now when the door is NOT shut the Alarm sound is not there as well.
Could this be an electronic / electrical fault ?I will very much appreciate of any help from member & moderators regarding this malfunction with my equipment.
Thanking in advance. Rai

ParticipantE4 Error on Dish Washer
Hi All I had earlier on posted a message on the forum regarding my Bush Dishwasher,
The original problem seems to now have changed from display of 2 dashes (- -) only to Error code E4 now.
I have dismantled the switch and checked it with a meter and the switch seems to be working ok its a three pole micro switch one position is on and when pushed it is breaking. The other position is Push to make. I hope I am reconnecting the wires right way as I didnt take a note of the actual position of the wires on the switch
Using / trying push to break connection is showing E4.and when connecting to, push to make it is only showing 2 dashes (- -) on the display. Will appreciate any advice on this.
Secondly, the 2 wires that goes on the switch is showing continuity when wires itself are tested after disconnecting from the switch is this correct ?.
Probably the fault lies somewhere else.
Any advice / help rendered on this problem will be highly appreciate.
Kind regards. Rai

ModeratorRe: E4 Error on Dish Washer
are you sure the door switch is operating correctly
plus you may now have the wires on the overflow switch on the wrong terminals
to make things worse there is little or no tech information on these machines as as far as i know the brand is owned by Argos. which means i cant find out where the wires go
as a rule these days take a quick pic on your phone before you disconnect anything
plus also please you the original thread to continue your problem when its the same appliance as i had to find your old post to find out the original problem

Hi Dave, thanks for your reply to my posting. Firstly, I wish to apologies for creating a new post instead of continuing with the earlier posting.
I, agree that I should have taken a photo of the wiring position on the switch before actually pulling out the wires.
I doubt the door switch because immediately once the door is opened and power is applied the E4 is displayed. Function switches (Touch Pads) has got no effect at all and once the door is closed, with the E4 sign still displayed, there is some noise like a motor rotation or probably a pump being activated. This sound continues for some time and then stops.
However, when the machine was working fine, it used to do the following:
once the door is opened and powered up the display shows as 00, upon selection on the function /program switch the appropriate function LED would light up and once the door is shut the machine carries out its function.
Do you think the fault is on the other section on the machine as there appears to be no water on the base, flood switch seems to be working ok, probably the touch pad function switches are not working.
Where is the door switch normally located, I can also check the same with the meter is its working. Thank you very much
Any help, guidance, advice will highly be appreciated.
Kind regards. Rai

Hi Dave, Thanks a lot for your response. Luckily, I once again decided to have a go at the flood switch by taking out housing that holds the switch, on the polystyrene (the) Switch activator , I noticed that some debris was stuck on it and this was pushing the switch upwards and as a result of this the machine was not functioning and rendering the message as E4.
After removing the debris that got stuck on the switch activator, I refitted the switch housing and Wov ❗ ❗ the machine started working normally.
I wish to thank you very much for all your helpful Advice & time. Kind regards. 😀 😀
