ParticipantI’m trying to repair a Bush TDV6 tumble dryer.
Problem is drum makes juddering noise and only turns slowly. Drum has lots of play if you waggle it by hand.
I’ve dismantled it and found the felt bearing is heavily worn on top and right hand sides (looking from front), so needs replacing.
Not sure if the small circular metal brass-coloured bearing at the rear of the drum needs replacing? The threaded bolt that runs through it has about 1-2mm play in it. With the drum lying face-down on the floor and the rear metal “surround” bolted onto the centre shaft there is lots of play in the “surround”, but I’m not sure if that is normal when the front is not being supported? (By surround i mean the circular metal disk with about a 1cm lip and some connectors sticking out of it – sorry for not knowing the correct terms!)
Another issue: this dryer has positions for 4 bearing pads at the front base of the drum, however only the 2 on the right side are fitted. Should it have 4?
Thanks for your help in advance

ParticipantRe: Bush TDV6W bearing questions
Yes I know this is an ancient post but these are becoming common tumble dryers.
The rear bearing is a ball race bearing and that is what has probably failed.
The front drum play is the support which needs replacing.
The point is that this machine is Chinese and it is either the same as a Logik LVD6W13 or the larger drum LVD7W15. Anyone getting a spares problem should go to Partmaster where all the wiring diagrams, hand book, a copy of the technical service booklet with colour photo`s and in a rather shakey English translation from Chinese, and all the parts breakdown part numbers and very reasonable spares`prices are down loadable from their site in loving detail. It`s the sort of information Bosch and Miele owners can only dream about and they`re paying a little bit more than 150 quid for their contraptions and all fair play to Curry`s and Midea for doing so. -
