Participantbrand new bush vented tumbler dryer won’t work in garage is this to do with a sensor that says it’s too cold ? Is there anything that can be done so that it works we have no room inside for it. Thanks

No, if it’s too cold then most modern dryers will not work and, most other appliances will also not work either.
Self condensing dryers are more prone to this but it can happen on modern vented dryers also and there is no solution other than to site it in a suitable location I’m afraid.
More on dryers specifically here:

Typically you get these sorts of sensor errors, poor drying or rust forming on the cabinet as well as other issues.

Are there any tumbler dryers that are not so temperature sensitive is the sensor for the temperature inside the machine

Probably but it wouldn’t help with the other issues.

Ditto all my colleague has said. The article link he provided gives you all the information you need to realise when placing a dryer in an unheated environment, like a shed, outbuilding or garage.
We cannot emphasise the point more strongly about the dangers of operating electrical appliance in places where the ambient temperature falls to 6 degrees C (the dewpoint) or below.
Enough said on that and to answer your question then (for example) the White Knight 42AW has a bi-metal thermostat (as opposed to a NTC) and therefore will still operate under these conditions.

Yet there are hundreds if not thousands all around the country in garages. I would also not recommend it, l also wouldn’t recommend driving above the speed limit.

My normal response to someone that puts appliances in a damp environment is would you put you’re PC or tv there, almost always the answer is “oh I hadn’t looked at it like that”.
