Hi all, has anyone repaired bush machines, a landlord here has 14 of them , i know he must of got them cheap all relatively new , just going to try and fix up some using the parts from the others ,are these makes Chinese made cheers Kieran :boops:

Don’t touch them Kieran. The landlord is a cheapskate who will screw you for all you are worth if any of the Bush crap goes wrong!!!!

had a customer, tight ass , with a leaking soap box, could not get the part
so it got binned, cheap cr@p, avoid..canufixit

No the recent Bush machines are Turkish brand Vestels and are the same a White Knight washing machines for example and most Currys Logik models and some Haus models. They`re not difficult to repair with the major exception of bearings where unlike some rebadged Haier machines from PRC-e.g some Baumatics, the bearings are not often listed but complete rear tanks are-similar to the situation with the now old wma Hotpoints and so given their low purchase costs and effectively only one main source of parts via Connect and 4ourhouse who charge accordingly!The bearing problem with these machines is you have to take out the whole tank unit which is time consuming but so long as the old bearings are still in one piece it is easy to knock them out and replace them- most arre 6206 and 6205 size and the oil seal is 35x62x10/12 size. point of caution be weary of the front plastic half of the tanks front weith bolts-if you overtighten them the plastic studs shears off.

Go ahead and see what you can do for him as I would too; whole point of being in this trade after all. Other points of general interest that are known: the Tesco machine which is no longer being sold is a Vestel as is Pro Action these two machines being from memory the same as is the Swan brand not to be confused with Little Swan which was Chinese. Trouble is with these listed and Haus, W/Knight, Sovereign is that there are several models and not all will be/have been Vestel stuff as others are Haiers from PRC.Weak point on the vestel made machines are motor plug connectors and sometimes motor ( seleni made ) internal wiring which can be fixed without a new motor given the effort. Other weak points are bottom suspension legs wearing and belts all av from qualtex belt as a pattern part too for sensible dosh and I`ve had one or two heater and p/swt faults too. Generally the quality is not brilliant but what would anyone expect for less than 200 quid but the main problem is that people over loading especially in a rented communial situation but then everything else for the same or more than that money is just as bad difference being price of the spare parts. B o Luck. Bush parts are ordered on the model number AND a number beginning with 53 as there are different variations on the same theme.

cheers sce , i had a look at 2 so far ,one just sits with what look like board probs , start light flashing , thought door interlock, and checked motor and hello pat tester . the board is actually ok quality , the 2nd one, drum pulley bent ? it was loose on the shaft i just tightened it up but keeps spittin off the belt ,

Well as you see quality is not brilliant but it`s work and that is how the future is going to be: cheap imported jack stuff rather than expensive/over priced jack stuff; much rather work on the `cheap stuff` myself and still make a profit- new drum pulley should fix it. Looks like a bit of a weak point with a Haier machine I went to also, the center hole goes worn aka Hoover plastic drum pulleys from Hoover Logic days of old, bolt then drops off and pulley falls off.

and new hoover plastic pulleys and even a few zanussi as well. mate of mine refuses to go to bush machines but like has been said it’s work and they arent bad compared to overpriced merloni crap.
sticky buttons in the control panel have been a common fault ive seen. and the usual, a blocked pump on this is same as blocked pump on any no matter what the quality. and its easier and less painful for the customer when you write off a bush as opposed to say an aqualtis costing loads more.Re: bush washing machines
Overpriced merloni???? There is a contradiction in terms! Even £400 nowadays does not cut the mustard! And neither should it! They are nearly all crap in that region and below! You can’t expect quality for less then a weeks minimal wage! £6 odd quid an hour x 40 – £240 a washer sub 240….. Just how does that work? Sorry but they are all pieces of sub priced imported crap! I know, I know work is work and we all have to make a living but as long as they sell this shite then people will buy it and expect miricales and want to pay nothing because the machine is worth nothing to the point it ain’t even a student at mcdonalds wage for the week! even the clothes inside the drum are worth more in scrap value!!!!!!!!!! And that is the logic that under values our trade!. Can get a brand new washer for £200, But they then expect a miricale and then when it goes wrong expect you to use the same expertise and service that you would apply to a quality machine of plus £500 to that appliance and then not even want to pay you for the above and beyond service you have provided!
Yes a blocked pump is a blocked pump! But a blocked pump on a bush or a Bosch or miele who do you think,
A, is going to pay more,
B, which machine will last longer?
C, which customer will be more satisfied in the long run and recommend you again?!Sorry I am not directing my anger at you, it just gets to me sometimes our expertise, experience, knowledge is way past the pale, and then customers, work providers, manufacturers try and dump a load of shite on our lap and expect us to polish it into a shinning diamond and not want to pay when they have given us a pigs ear to start with! So what chance have we got?
My advice which is wrong ( I really know and would never do it myself) is screw the landlord! He is expecting to pay little and get a lot! And his intentions was clear to start by putting 14 machines in to properties to start with …. He as never had any intentions of paying out!
Just my view even if it sounds bitter, I’m sorry if I have caused offenseGood luck!

totally agree with you that our trade is now being undervalued by cheap machines.my point is that rather than refuse to go to a bush, you may as well fix it and get paid.
if i turned down say only three bush jobs a week that would be £560/month just for 10mins unblocking a pump. sorry but in this climate i can’t turn down that sort of money.no offence taken

A landlord of an apartment block with a dozen Bush machines is gonna winge a bit at paying 46 quid to unblock a pump. He might even refuse to pay and insist you try extracting the money from his tenant.
