    Hi All

A couple of quick (hopefully) questions concerning the above washer dryer:

    1. The customer is complaining of a musty/dank smell on clothing after it has been dried within the machine – I have already checked the drain pump (drains quickly and quietly) and the waste empties into a standpipe.

    2. The door seal is perished around the point where the dryer connects and will need replacing (very brown and brittle), looking at it it looks like the airflow into the machine is possibly slightly constricted which may be the cause of the seals failure – I notice that the tub has 2 spring mounting positions on it about 15mm apart, it is currently hung from the rear position – is this correct and is it likely to cause any problems if I was to move them to the front position to try and un-restrict the airflow a bit.

    3. What temperature would you expect the dryer to get to within the drum? Hopefully not an issue but information that I may need when I go back.
    Thank you

    Jem

Quick thought, is the machine itself clean? A lot of custs today use low temp quick washes and use liquid detergents. This causes sludge build up in the machine and it soon starts smelling. If the custs clothes aren’t being properly washed and then warm/damp air is being blown around an already smelly tub it will soon start to make the clothes smell.
Just an idea but it might be worth talking to the cust about their washing habits?
