    Hi I have an indesit idl 40s, I bought it new, but I’m not sure how long ago – it’s not under warranty.

    Today whilst mid-cycle the on/off switch exploded off the machine (ok it shot across the room, but it was quite loud!) then the whole machine shut down.

    After a while it allowed me to switch back on to finish cycle.

    I am guessing it overheated? Is it ok to use?

    I’d suggest no, get it looked at by an engineer.

    OK, thanks, I wonder what made that happen?

    It’s not the first time, year’s ago the top of my delonghi coffee machine exploded, it missed my face by milometers!
