Hi, asking for your thoughts on a repair of a Bosch srs43c22gb classixx slimline dishwasher.
looks like the heating element is faulty, open circuit when tested.
Is it worth repairing or should I buy new.
guess part would be around £100 and it looks a bit of job to change.
any thoughts, suggestions or tips welcome
    cheers ❓ :hmm:

Bosch list part number 491756 or 483257 and this will cost over £100
The heater assembly is common to quite a number of Bosch/Siemens/Neff
    models.

You can however source the part relatively cheaply on Ebay or other used parts outlets.

The job requires removal of the base imho although it can be done by dropping the base
slightly and then appropriate keyhole surgery, leaving the main circulation pump in place.

You should firstly check the condition of the main circulation pump as this is a weak point
on the machine with a tendancy to leak and damage the bearings etc

If you have any sign of leakage under the main circulation pump then it
may not be worth doing as the machine is likely to fail again fairly quickly.

    thanks Peter for your reply
interestingly I had to tip out some water from the base
    a couple of months ago
    although no problems since then

i assume that when you tested the heater, that you tested between the actual heater tags. the reason i ask is that there is an inline pressure switch which will be open circuit while machine is not spraying. also the switch itself may be faulty.
i have repaired countless faults on these machines over the years and have only ONCE had one with an open circuit heater element.
