can annoyone recomend a washing machine
i have 500 pounds to spend on one?

With that sort of budget I would look at the Miele W520 German built, very hard wearing, looks good, easy to use and will last years . Take a look at the link here http://www.miele.co.uk/products/Features.aspx?pid=102 looks like it is coming with a five year warranty at the moment.
