I’m thinking of buying a PAT tester, to be more specific, a Martindale HPAT600.
I’ve never used one before but I’d like to have a basic one as some of the landlords through the estate agents that I look after have asked me to do a ‘once over’ on their appliances between tenants and I’d like to have something that can get through it with quickly, and be able to record the results.
There is a huge range of testers out there and I’m not sure which would be best for me, something basic to start with i suppose.
The reviews on the Martindale seem to be good.
Does anyone use one of these or has anyone any general advice before i buy one

    Cheers

Go and do the City and Guilds 2377-22 course at college first, it’s only a 2 day course and it’s quite easy. Not only does it show you how to use the PAT tester and correctly record the results, you will get the C and G qualification certificate as well. Local authorities love to see these pieces of paper you know…………..

Can’t do that city and guilds course in Ireland at the moment, I can do the exam in belfast but they want me to attend a week long course the week before which is tricky right now.
I’m looking at doing a private one day course here or if i can tie in the 2377 with a couple of other courses that i plan to go over to the uk to do, then i will.
Right now I’m just looking for a basic PAT tester to start me off.
