It`s going to be another hot weekend and my fridge freezer has just decided to take early retirement !!!
This evening i de-frosted the freezer section (long overdue), when everything had been taken care of i plugged the power cable in and……….. and…………. nothing. The compressor would not run. I checked the fuse – fine. I checked the thermostat setting……. all the way up to maximum and still the compressor would not kick in. It`s now 11pm and still i have no working fridge freezer. I own a Beko model: CSA 576 W and the refrigerant is R600a butane, at least that is the information stamped on the compressor. However a sticker on the back of the unit says C-pentane whatever that is. The fault is not power, as the power light illuminates as does the internal lighting when the door is opened. I can only assume i have imbalanced the refrigerant or the oil in the compressor and until is has settled the compressor will not start, would this be correct ??? I am in a real pickle here. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated.

On a Beko I’m afraid it’s likely to be the compressor that’s chucked it, but you’d have to have that confirmed of course. It’s probably failed on the power cycle as they do that on occasion I’m afraid.

It should have cut back in immediately and, with the amount of time its been off that you infer, there’s no danger that residual heat is causing it not to start on the start relay device.

Best advice is to have it checked.
