Hi,
I have an old Hotpoint 8214w fridge freezer. Over the space of a couple of months or so, the freezer compartment freezes completely over. It starts off as condensation on the freezer door, and outside of the freezer compartment, which freezes up and over time, becomes completely frozen.
Because the fridge is warmer than the freezer (obviously haha), the ice defrosts and drips into the main part of the fridge, as well as the compartments in the fridge door. It gets inceasingly worse and i usually end up defrosting the whole thing once every couple of months.
I am aware that it is an old fridge freezer and is probably broken so can’t be fixed, so is there any way to turn off or disable the freezer compartment so that the ice can’t start to form in the first place?thanks for any replies

Don’t think so on this model,if you check at the rear and there is only one motor (it’s the black domed device)then no you can’t.
