Can we still repair Whrlpool dryers?

Sorry if this has already been covered, but i couldn’t find it anywhere on here.
Where do we stand with repairing the Whirlpool/Hotpoint dryers these days? When a customer calls with a fault and it’s one on the recall list, do you tell them to call Whirlpool instead? What if it was a door fault or even having to replace the plug, are we meant to be turning the jobs away incase it goes up in flames afterwards? Could it make us liable if this happened being the last ones to look at it and not informing the customer?
We have just booked one into our workshop which is on the list and needs a new shaft kit. We’re not sure if we should even start it.
