Candy C4400 dishwasher not moving on to next part of cycle

Hi there , I have a Candy C4400 dishwasher that if you switch it on to the quick rinse cycle it will just sit there making a sucking noise. If you manually turn the control knob it will then start the rinse part of the cycle but won’t get any further unless manually moved on by turning the control knob. It does the same thing for all the cycles. It seems to be able to complete all the cycles but only if the control knob is operated manually.

Has anyone got any idea of what the fault might be

If your appliance completes all functions (fill, drain, circulation, heat and powder flap), it will be the programme timer which has failed. P/no 92742444; an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for prices and ordering if you intend to repair this yourself.

Make diagrams before removing any wire (there is no tech support available if you get it wrong………). Power off, of course.

Many thanks Penguin45 for your prompt advice. I’ll check with uk.whitegoods for a price on the part but I suspect it will be too dear
