Our washing machine has stopped heating and only washes in cold water now. We also noticed that the water level seems to be quite low; not even reaching the bottom of the glass door. Are these problems related; as we managed to get the machine to fill by taking off the pressure pipe, and then blowing into it to trigger the switches; but it still didn’t heat up at all. Or is there more than one problem?
Any help would be very welcome, as we have two toddlers and the washing is a never ending pile; and growing fast.

the water level should be below the bottom of the glass door which makes it difficult to tell if it is heating or not.
the machine only heats up at one part of the program,the only way you could easily tell if it is heating is by feeling the temperature of the water coming out of the machine when it comes to its first emptying position.
i.e. put it onto its hottest wash when it empties the first time feel how hot the drain hose (grey corrugated coming out of the bottom back of the machine).
watch in case its really hot if you do go any further take the plug out.

I have already done as you suggested and the water was really cold. Any other ideas?

Yep….fit a new heater as its died of old age… 😉
