Washing is not filling though there is a clicking noise as if it is trying, also last night it filled but didn’t wash or spin. Am desperate as have holiday washing to do and two small boys.

Door is locked, fills with water, completes cycle but drum doesn’t rotate although it sounds as though it is trying to move. Machine also empties at the end of cycle.

Thanks for that, but am I supposed to look through the top, back or bottom of the machine as I have looked in the back and top and can not see anything. Sorry to be so useless.

Drive motor is under the drum – easiest course of action is to remove rear panel and undo two bolts – motor can be pulled off it’s lug for inspection.

I have found the carbons and clean them, what are the chances of the machine working now. Also how easy are the carbons to fit. do they need soldering?

The carbons didn’t look worn down or damaged to me. Can you sugest anything else?

If you are certain that the brushes are not finished (a good centimetre in length at least), there is little else apart from some sort of wiring problem (unlikely) or the computer board itself. As this is an expensive component, it’s probably time for professional help to confirm the diagnosis.
