Hi I have a candy cd474x dishwasher, problem is it keeps tripping the rcd in the fusebox, I have been probing the wiring and im getting a short from the blue wire going to earth coming out of the timer, so I presume that the timer is u/s, does anyone have any ideas or is it def the timer at fault?
    regards

Find out what is on the other end of the wire. Electro-mechanical timers do not generally go down to earth.

Ever tried getting information out of the Masons? The manufacturers are far worse…….. Use your test meter and set it so that you can test continuity – that wire goes somewhere.

I know what you mean! problem is i was unpluging one wire which was tight and now noticed that 2 more wires came out aswell and not sure which wire goes where cos there are so many terminals on the timer that hasnt got anything plugged into it! doh!

I have traced the fault to a faulty element! have ordered a new one and lets hope there is no other fault!
