    Hi All,
I have a Candy CDB 126 washer/dryer. The programs for the often used 40 and 60C wash will often not start, the only way to workaround this is to run another programme and set the temperature override to get (say) a 40C wash. Quite often, the previous programme re-runs and is not replaced by the the new selection implying the last programmes has not exited properly even when the door lock times out and releases the door. For instance, rinse spins restarts instead of a normal 40 or 60C cotton wash.

The machine is about 5 years old and I have replaced the door interlock (in the past) for an unrelated fault. i have reseated the connectors to the rotary programme switch and to the system board.

Sometimes a full power reset (unplug for a few mins) solves this.

My gut feeling it is failing electrolytics on the control board or the rotary programmer switch perhaps is on its way out. Is this a known stock fault for this model?

    Thanks in advance.

The rotary switch is a common weak point on these, often a good spray of electrical switch cleaner into the switch will cure it for a while, just don’t be tempted to use WD40.

Thank you – and please accept my apologies in nor replying sooner. A good dose of servisol did the trick along with whizzing the switch back and forth a few times (with the mains off!),
