Candy cdc266 dryer drum stopping

Hope someone can give me some advice.

I have a Candy CDC266 dryer which starts ok but after a few forward/reverse cycles the drum just stops, you can still hear the motor and there is a burning smell. If I stop the machine and unplug it for a minute or so it starts up again as normal then the same problem occurs.

My other half wants to just get a new machine but I’d rather have go at repairing it as it’s only 18mnths old.

any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

I don’t like the bit about the burning smell?….Motor most likely = expensive…… 😥
