Candy CDI 2012-80 built-in won’t stop draining.

Hi

I have a Candy CDI 2012-80 built in dishwasher that seems to be having problems with the drain pump.

The last two times I started a cycle the drain pump ran and drained the washer, it than ran intermittently (1 second on followed by 1 second off) long after all the water had drained for about 5 minutes.

Eventually it stopped, then filled and went into a rinse cycle, but at the end it did the same thing when draining except this time the intermittent drain cycle did not end.

I decided to stop it and reset because I was worried the drain pump would be damaged.

I am guessing that it does not know all the water has completed draining and there is a defective level / pressure sensor somewhere.

I have previously changed the heater element so I am happy to pull it out and disamantle, I just need some guidance on what the problem might be and what to do next.

a lot of dishwasher have a float in the base to detect leaks. if a leak is detected it starts the pump and it wont stop
not sure if yours has but it worth a look
