    Hi folks,

Hoping that someone can point me in the right direction with identifying a problem that’s suddenly occurred on my above fridge/freezer.

It’s stopped working completely. The freezer doesn’t freeze and the fridge doesn’t run. The light works for the door opening when the fridge is powered on. When powered on I can’t hear any humming or life at all.

Its located in my integral garage so the ambient temperature in there has been pretty cold lately with these freezing temperatures we’re having.

During my web searches, I’ve read elsewhere about “defrost timers” and wondered if this could be my problem. I can’t check it though as I can’t find the so-called shaft that you can mark to see if it’s turning or manually advance it using a screwdriver

I’m after any pointers please as to what can cause the unit to shut down like it has (Defrost timer, thermostat etc etc). i don’t want to completely give up on it as I feel it must be something fairly straightforward.

Any help is much appreciated. Thank you

    Guy

    Hey.

Just thought Id reply to this as it came in a Google search for my problem as well.

Exact same Fridge Freezer. Exact same problem. Exact same time.

Ive put mine in the dining room and took everything out, waiting for it to defrost, however after leaving it overnight and switching it back on, its still not motoring up.

Knowing there is another out there with the same problem with the temperatures we are having now, one can only presume that it is indeed the weather, and that we must wait for the temperature to increase before they become operational again.
